the Department of Language and Literature, St Joseph’s College, (Autonomous) Devagiri 


The webinar on Recent Trends and Techniques in Online Teaching and Technology jointly conducted by LISSAH College, Kaithapoyil and St Joseph’s College Devagiri began at 1.30 pm, 22nd February 2022. The program was scheduled for three days from 22nd to 24th February. The primary objective of the Workshop was to shed light on the recent trends in Technology and Pedagogy.

The management team from the institution were present during the inaugural function. Fr. Sunil M Antony CMI, Director, Self-Financing Programs, Fr. Anto N J CMI, IQAC Co-Ordinator, Fr. Biju Joseph CMI, Manager, and Dr. Sabu K Thomas, Principal were present from St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous) Devagiri. Fr. Niju Thalachira CST, Director, Fr. Sebin Chirammel CST, Vice- Principal and Dr. Benny Joseph, Principal was present from Little Flower Institute of Social Sciences and Health, Kaithapoyil.

Workshop and Paper Presentations were conducted parallelly via two Google meet links. The workshop was handled by the team from St. Joseph's College, Devagiri. The three-day workshop was on innovative techniques to enhance teaching and learning. The first day of the workshop had two sessions on "Out of the box learning: Innovative Trends in Online Teaching" by Dr. Prasanth V. G, Head, Associate Professor and Research Guide, Department of English, RSM SNDP Yogam College, Koyilandy and " Innovative Tools for English Language Teaching that actually work!" by Dr. Anej Somaraj, Associate Professor and Research Guide, Department of English, Christian College, Chengannur . The second day had three sessions on " Innovative Pedagogy and Digital Initiatives of GOI under NEP 2020" by Dr. P. Anil Kumar, Principal, M.R Govt Sanskrit College, Vizianagaram ,  "Towards Shifting Realities: Oratures, Oral Aesthetic & Cyborality" by Dr. S Chitra , Faculty and Head, Post Graduate Department of English, Yonphula Centenary College, Royal University of Bhutan and Understanding Research Documentation with MLA Handbook 9th Edition by Dr. Rafseena, Assistant Professor, Department of Studies in English, Kannur University.

As part of the webinar original unpublished papers were invited for presentation. The Paper Presentations were monitored by LISSAH College, Kaithapoyil. The committee received more than 50 papers and 33 were selected for presentation. An ISBN publication was also intended with authentic papers that were presented during the webinar. The paper presentations were chaired by Dr. Ninitte Rolence, Head and Department of English, Malabar Christian College, Kozhikode chaired the presentation on the first day, Dr. Cherry Mathew Philipose, Assistant Professor, Shiv Nadar University, Chennai on the second day and Dr. Premanand M E, Head and Assistant Professor, Department of Language and Literature, St. Joseph's College Devagiri and Ms. Saigeetha S, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Malabar Christian College Kozhikode chaired on the third day. The papers were received from undergraduate students to research scholars with varied topics ranging from literature, movies, translation, and ELT.
